A global concern
May 21, 2007Talks about global warming has become part of the news once again as of late. Come to think of it, a lot of people are not taking this stuff seriously. I used to be guilty of that. But reading more and more about the changes of our ecosystem, I actually became worried since my future children will have a hard time due to the effects these changes are bringing about. Global degradation, global warming — these are issues that should concern all of us, after all, if these could not be slowed down, these will mean emergence of new diseases, depletion of our natural resources and degredation of water supplies and so forth.
George Lindemann (nah im not talking about that guy in the popular series - Heroes), is one of the fountain head of a multi disciplinary research (conducted at Brown University) studying four futuristic scenarios that takes into consideration various factors that affects biodiversity, some of which are population growth and land use change. According to the study, we are quickly depleting the resources that we need in order to survive. Hopefully, a lot of people will start doing their share in order to save our environment as more and more institutions are campaigning for environment awareness.
